Why study with us
The School of Management prepares students for roles in accounting, administration, marketing support, human resources, and small-business operations. RECTEM offers two core NBTE programmes: Accountancy and Business Administration and Management—both designed to produce technician-level professionals who can contribute from their first month in employment.
Polytechnics across Nigeria—from Lagos State Polytechnic to Federal Polytechnic Offa—structure management education around practical competencies: bookkeeping, reporting, office communication, basic law, economics, and entrepreneurship. RECTEM follows this model with computer laboratories, case-based assignments, and SIWES placements in firms and organisations.
Whether you aim to work in audit support, payroll, retail management, or start your own enterprise, our programmes build the numerical literacy, software skills, and professional habits employers expect.
Academic pathways
Students enrol in a two-year National Diploma programme (four semesters) combining lectures, tutorials, computer applications, and supervised industrial training. The ND is a terminal technician qualification and a stepping stone to HND study, professional examinations (such as ICAN pathways for Accountancy), or direct employment in business and finance roles.
Accountancy and financial skills
The ND Accountancy programme follows the NBTE curriculum for technician-level accountants: financial recording, final accounts, budgeting support, and introductory taxation and auditing assistance. Students who complete the programme are positioned to support professional accountants and pursue further credentials.
Business administration breadth
Business Administration and Management covers marketing, operations, human resources, economics, law, and quantitative methods. Graduates can coordinate office functions, assist with surveys and planning, and communicate effectively with clients and teams—competencies listed in the NBTE objectives for the programme.
Computer applications and modern offices
Spreadsheets, accounting packages, presentation tools, and business software are integrated into coursework. RECTEM management students graduate comfortable with the digital workflows used in banks, SMEs, NGOs, and government departments.
Ethical leadership and governance
Management education at RECTEM stresses integrity, internal control awareness, and responsible decision-making. Students discuss real scenarios involving fraud prevention, customer relations, and regulatory compliance—preparing them for trustworthy roles in finance and administration.
Industry engagement and SIWES
Placements with businesses, accounting firms, and public offices give students supervised experience in live environments. Guest lectures and project work connect classroom topics to Ogun State and national economic realities.
Pathways after the ND
Many alumni progress to HND study, university degrees, or professional examinations. Others move directly into accounts clerks, administrative officer, sales, and operations roles—with room to grow as experience accumulates.
