The National Diploma (ND) is Nigeria's standard two-year technician qualification, regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and awarded by accredited polytechnics. Programmes combine classroom instruction, laboratory and workshop practice, and mandatory industrial attachment.
At Redeemer's College of Technology and Management (RECTEM), every ND course is structured to NBTE curriculum specifications so graduates earn a nationally recognised credential and are prepared for employment, entrepreneurship, or progression to Higher National Diploma (HND) study.
Academic pathways
After completing your ND and the required SIWES/industrial training, you may apply for an HND in a related discipline at RECTEM or another NBTE-accredited institution, sit professional examinations, or pursue a bachelor's degree through direct entry at a university.
NBTE-accredited curricula
Programme titles, credit units, and graduate outcomes follow current NBTE national curricula available through the Digital NBTE portal.
Hands-on training
Engineering workshops, science laboratories, architectural studios, and management case work give students practical competence, not theory alone.
SIWES industrial attachment
A supervised industrial work experience scheme (typically three to four months) links classroom learning to real employers and strengthens employability.
Full-time and part-time routes
Choose full-time study with JAMB UTME or a flexible part-time timetable designed for working adults through the School of Part-Time Studies.
Clear progression to HND
ND graduates who meet grade and industrial training requirements can advance to RECTEM HND programmes in aligned disciplines.
Industry-focused faculty
Lecturers combine academic qualifications with field experience, mentoring students toward technician and technologist roles in Nigeria's economy.
