National Diploma Programme

Architectural technology, often referred to as "architectural tech" or "arch-tech," is a field of study and practice that focuses on the application of technology to the design, construction, and management of buildings and architectural projects. It encompasses a wide range of knowledge and skills related to the technical aspects of architecture and the built environment.

The programme's goal is to prepare technicians capable of carrying out various innovative tasks while nurturing and sustaining the culture of best practices in teaching/learning methods, research demonstration, skills and technology innovations in order to produce job creators for the globe. With the goals and objectives to produce basic presentation and perspective drawings; make a good freehand sketch; build simple models; develop spatial relationship, circulation and area diagram and interpret technical drawings and specifications and incorporate such details in the architectural working drawings; supervise construction works and make progress reports on simple structures; make presentation drawings of architectural works and draw detailed perspective with necessary renderings and requisite color scheme; collect information and date on simple architectural projects; write specifications for simple building projects.

Career Opportunities

Architecture careers are more diverse than you might think, including: Building architecture – designing new buildings, or adapting existing ones. Landscape architecture – planning, designing and managing open spaces, including both natural and urban areas. Their duties include meeting with clients to discuss their vision, drawing up building plans and modifying their designs throughout the building process to maximize structural integrity. Admission Requirements

To embark on the journey toward a National Diploma in Architectural Technology, prospective students typically need to fulfill certain prerequisites. These include:

Entry Requirements

Candidates are generally required to possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent, with credits in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, and English Language.

JAMB UTME

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (JAMB UTME) scores will be used as part of the selection process.
