The Higher National Diploma (HND) is an advanced technician/technologist qualification regulated by NBTE, usually completed in four semesters after a relevant National Diploma and post-ND industrial training.
RECTEM HND programmes deepen professional competence in engineering, environmental sciences, management, and science & technology — preparing graduates for supervisory roles, specialist technical positions, and further academic study.
Academic pathways
HND holders may proceed to postgraduate diplomas, professional body examinations, or bachelor's degree completion through direct entry. Many graduates enter public service, construction, manufacturing, ICT, estate and financial services, and laboratory science sectors.
Advanced NBTE curricula
HND syllabi emphasise professional depth, project work, and industry-standard methods aligned with NBTE HND curriculum documents.
Builds on your ND
Entry requires a relevant ND (typically Lower Credit or above), O-Level credits, and documented post-ND industrial training.
Project & seminar work
Students complete integrative projects that demonstrate problem-solving in real workplace scenarios.
Employability focus
Graduates are trained for technologist and middle-management technical roles valued by Nigerian industry and government agencies.
Entrepreneurship & innovation
RECTEM encourages graduate enterprise through entrepreneurship education and links to the institution's innovation ecosystem.
